Mondo is a company founded in 2001 by Rob Jones and Tim League. The company started as a t-shirt shop and expanded into selling pop culture posters, soundtracks, toys, apparel, books, games and collectibles.
The Art of Mondo features selected highlights and favourites that sold in Mondo's first nine years. The book's a huge 356-page hardcover with quality low gloss paper and fantastic binding. Publisher is Insights Editions.
The artworks or posters in this book are gorgeous. The movie poster art in this book are fan art alternatives that in many cases actually look better than official movie posters. The thing that made Mondo so successful is the creative poster designs created by artists from around the world.
Adjectives that come to mind instantly when I see the posters are smart, creative and unusual. These posters are designed to grab viewers attention. There's strong use of graphic design and each page is a surprise. It's incredibly satisfying going through the beautiful art, pausing at each page either to admire the details or the simplicity of the design.
Better get this book before it's out of stock just like the limited edition posters from the company. Highly recommended.
